That is to funny. But thats how it starts. My friend gave me 4 RIR, an egg turner, and small bator. Now the cabnet bator is almost finished. Iam at 10 chickens. And looking for eggs.

As it is there is so much talk about turkeys I'm on my way to get one at the feed store now. I'll just have to tell hubby I'm not sure why it doesn't look like the others. Maybe a hawk dropped it off.

I must be in a funny mood today, this is funny too

I have told my husband everything. I was hatching goose eggs for a friend and they were hatching when my husband was home. He asked me what it was and I said I don't know...I knew what it was....He said NO GEESE...well last summer I just ended up with a pair of Embens and Four American Buff Geese...now he wants me to raise a bunch for food, Geese are VERY hardy animals

i am going to have baby turkeys for sale
in the first week of april on craigslist
or auction here on backyard chickens
and in april i will have for sale
the full grown turkeys also
either here at backyard chickens or craigslist

Okay you all, my son just told me that he thinks after observing the chickens for awhile that the rooster is keeping one of the 10 commandments. I looking puzzled asked "which one?", he said "well, I'm thinking it's not; keep the marriage holy because he has 5 wives, so I'm pretty sure it's the one about procreating"...

He cracks me up.. At least I'm not doubtful about the fertility of my eggs.

I am not sure if I should chime in here now, or not.

Methinks I like to stir the pot a bit too much.

.....BTW--I have 40+ eggs due today. ANYONE WANT CHICKIES?

TurkeyBreeder--thanks for the offer of eggies, but I have some on order already. Turkey math is NOT forgiving like chicken math.

, food, care, and can't forget to include the space for them, and a home, and upkeep etc... Chickies often = obsession I'm afraid to get addicted like the other...

That is one sinful chicken! Our roo was a little to aggressive to the silkie. He is just a terror to her! He doesn't even try to mate with her. He just steps on her head and rips her feathers out. I was worried he was going to kill her, so he landed himself in the pen with the only hen that won't give it up. We only have two pens, and soon the chicks will need to have one of them. I don't know what to do. I might end up having to stick the silkie in a dog crate until the chicks are big enough that she won't hurt them. I hate for her to be alone, but she obviously prefers humans to chickens anyway. I really need to get her another silkie, but I am not willing to drive three hours to buy one.

The first lean-to on the right I just winged it the 2nd I actually kind of measured cost 100 bucks a piece, mostly in roofing & hardware wood was only 46 dollars each. going to be about 5 in each to seperate breeds & a double 1 for the JG's. My chickens free range from sun up till roost time. but We are incorporating a few more breeds & We wanted something easier to clean.
