Arizona Chickens

This summer, when I need to get away it would be nice to visit SV again. If I do I will PM you and grab a bundle or two. I used to be a wood carver, had all the tools, and then some. Using my clamps I could create all kinds of stuff, knife handles, tables, boxes, and art work for a few. I just couldn't see it all thrown away. After about a year I started to take some home. One of the men cut it up for me so it will be manageable in the back of my car. I would have liked it as it was. But I told them it was for camp fires. It is beautiful. We had a huge project for a Caribbean Resort in all Teak. But I only got a little of that. It was painful to see it all in a land fill.

Yeah it is said that so much can go to waist.. We have a monthly bulk pick up here in Tempe.. We repurpose a lot here in our
neighborhood...

Brew day! I'm making a rye ipa today. The flock will get 14# of tasty grain to scratch at later today.

During brew day, my garage is open if anyone wants to come by. I'm in east Tucson, shoot me a pm.

Kukupecpec, a house goose will make for one big diaper!

Bummer we are not close!! I will have to look into brewing.. When we come down hopefully we have time to check out the set up.
I did ask on a earlier post, how far is the camping by the water to fantacy island?

About an hour drive. The creek is mostly snow melt, so it gets dry soon.
Let me know when you come down south.

This just got posted, the organic feed co-op that has been in Phoenix for awhile has expanded to Tucson. I've been getting their feed for awhile and have been very happy.

Do you know where the drop point is in Tucson or where I can find out? Just curious, did you use a different brand of organic feed before Big Sky or did you switch from conventional feed? I currently use Modesto Milling's organic feed. Has anybody done a side-by-side comparison of these two companies feed? I would think you'd have to feed for at least 3 months for a fair comparison.

Those of you who feed the phoenixorganic feed: I noticed it is only available as powder, and not pellets. Seems like this would only be ideal for young chicks & not adult birds. Don't you get a LOT of spillage & wastage with this particular organic feed? Is all organic feed like this, or are some companies making organic pellets as well? I am curious here

Brought her home!!!
She is so cute and fluffy. I am excited to design a new diaper for her. They have some available, but they are too expensive for me and use disposable human baby diapers, no thanks!
