misting is for use in the incubator not under a broody duck or hen. i don't know how you would go about that anyway. they should be fine under your broody and should hatch right AROUND 28 days, give or take. I have had them start as early as day 23 and continue on until day 28-29, but not usually past. if it goes past, candle them at night and you should be able to see movement in the egg.MamaHenChris....
I know you have used your silkie to hatch out ducklings... did you mist the eggs at all? I have heard people on here say that you need to add extra humidity, especially if you live in a dry location??? What is your thought on that? I think it's too late for me as my ducklings are due to hatch over the next couple days if they are indeed viable. My white silkie "Cloud" has been sitting on 7 Pekin/Rouen mixed eggs that I will be giving to my sister when she is done raising them. I am getting so impatient and hope that at least a few of them hatch!!
Also, how long past 28 days should I wait?
