Arizona Chickens

I was wondering if that's it. They are 18 weeks this weekend. We've been checking the nesting boxes and other cozy areas for the last 2 weeks in anticipation of eggs.

I came home to a surprise today. Eggs were due to hatch Friday/Saturday. I had candled the eggs last night before "lockdown" with mom. This little one showed no signs of movement in the egg. The other egg I am not sure either. I had 6 eggs to start and only 2 on day 14 looked good.

Your hens should start laying soon. That's what they do for the rooster...if you know what I mean.

. It's a sign that they are mature. Mine did that for me until I got a rooster. Now they don't squat for me, just the Roo.

WHAAAAAAT?!! For real?! My two red stars do that, when I go to pet them they sort of hunch/squat down and hold there for a second. I take my hand up because I thought they were trying to limbo away from me. But if I keep it there they stay there. But they are only 14 weeks?!

Is the hovabator incubator any good I want to try it but only if it is good and if I can get pretty good hatch rates thx for your help

Yep! I would just give them a little "scratch on the back" when they squatted. Then everything was good in the chicken world. They'll start laying soon for you!

i have the genesis 1582 hovabator and for some reason the cord is stuck in the outlet for the past several months so i just keep hatching!

i could really use a second one, but sometimes i borrow beehappy's instead. she just picked hers up yesterday. she has 3!!!!!!!! and then sometimes she borrows mine too! we have issues

but the genesis is great, great hatches once you get your grove on.
