Arizona Chickens

Nicola probably knows them. When I went to her baby shower it was most of her colleagues. The men were invited as well.
I'm out in the front yard now & the babies from redrocket, barred rocks are eating up the ants..I wish they all would do that..
She gave me a silkie pullet, grey & beautiful.. Waiting for her to remind me of the color agsin. She told me.. I forgot..

We are hoping to have more than 1 rooster for Processing day.. So if anyone has any extra rooster they don't want P.M us
We will take them :)

I've got two Silkies you can have. One is a cockerel and the other is 42 weeks old. She hasn't laid a single egg, still! And since my wife is mad at me for the bunny mishap, she can't get much more angry at me! Lmao! Just kidding. She still wants them both around...

Thanks for all the comments about West vs. East in Tucson!

Besides wanting space and chickens, I like the idea of being able to do our own thing. We both ride road bikes, so I'd like to be able to ride out of my place on pavement, without being chased by dogs, and be able to ride not more than a couple of miles to get groceries~ I'll be retired by then, and he'll have to find work. He fixes computers as a mobile business. He wants to find a good gun club too, being a former Marine.

I make and sell jewelry online on Etsy, and we both are gamers, so we'd need fast internet.

I want to garden too! So I wouldn't like to be told I can't water my vegies, or wash my car, if that happens.

Sounds like West might be more our sort of place. I can't imagine driving an hour just to get to the freeway! Mt. Lemmon is more mountain than I can ride, but it sounds beautiful and I'd want to try. Really, an hour from one side to the other? Yikes!

Sonoran Silkie: you know I kept asking doctors to take skin sample. They refused, it wasn't necessary, or I t isn't done. I told them I thought it was something like athletes foot, a fungus, because I used a lot of that hand Sterilizer. The answer was no the Hand Sanitizer is safe and not cause this. I was given anti fungus by a couple of them. Didn't help. There was so many creams, liquid, and a few pills, nothing worked. When I had enough I started full experiments of mixing creams, ointments, essential oils, with mixed results. I would get better then it would be back. I settled for adequate. Then the Blu-Kote stuff. After I ended up with it all over my hand (my left hand). I didn't try washing it off. My hands are so bad what could it hurt. The fallowing days as the blue washed away my hand was clearer! :bow I sprayed the both hands, better, one last time, Gone. BUT, it has happened before and it was back Ina few days. It has been months now. :celebrate I am breathing easier.... But how do I tell my people Doctor? I haven't :duc

Tucson is spread out. If you include suburbs like Oro Valley, Marana, Green Valley, Sahuarita and Vail the greater Tucson area covers over 1600 square miles and it is amoeboid in form. It takes forever to get from one end to the other. I used to live in the middle of town, near Grant/Tucson Boulevard. It would take me half an hour to go just a few miles in any direction because of all the traffic lights and having to wait several light cycles at each one. Now I live about 15 miles southwest of where I used to be. It only takes me about 15 minutes longer than when I lived in town to get to most of the same places. The roads from here are faster and there aren't as many lights. But the nearest convenience store is five miles away. Which is inconvenient. On the other hand I have an acre of land, a garden, a bunch of chickens, and I can see the stars at night. There is no police helicopter circling overhead every night. Most of my neighbors have animals - chickens, goats, horses, dogs, turkeys, ducks, you name it someone out here has it.

For the record, it takes me an hour and a half to get from here to the top of Mount Lemmon. But the Tucson Mountains are only a few minutes away and I hike in them a lot. Life is good.

I am breathing easier.... But how do I tell my people Doctor? I haven't

LOL! I would walk into my people doctor and hand him a can of Blu-Kote without saying anything. See if he notices.

Thanks for telling us about this. I am tempted to try the stuff on a chronic skin thing I've got. Just can't figure out how to spray it on my back without staining everything else blue. The can says it stains even when it is dry. Is that true or do they just say that to keep themselves from getting sued?
