They are assorted.... Black Coper Marans, Lemon Cuckoo Marrans (they are the rich lighter brown), Blue Marans, and Splash Marans.
No idea how many of any..... Or if any are pullets. Right now I :fl the first one is.... She/it/he is my very first. It looks like they are all going to be feather leg variety. I know the feathers on legs or ether European or US. I will have to look it up unless some one knows.

She is not alone #2. :jumpy :yesss:

Good night.... I hope
Tomorrow, we will see. # 2 on time, I think, just @ 20 days and an hour.
It is probably to soon to tell, I would think the splash would be easy to tell along with the lemon. Is the lack copper and blue greatly different? Or is it sometimes they are sometimes they are not?

Well, when I looked yesterday evening, my two batches of wine were bubbling like a aquarium air stone! I had absolutely no idea that they put off so much carbon dioxide. It was truly amazing to watch it bubbling up through the air lock, almost violently.

On a sad note, it's been two full days without an egg from my clan. It appears the humidity is affecting them worse than the heat did, which is saying something. I still got at least one a day even when it hit 118*. Oh well, it should be cooling down significantly here shortly. I'm ready for winter.

Congratulations Lady Kota :)!!!! Thank you for posting pics. I was going to pm you and ask how your lock down was going. I feel that marans tend to get stuck in their eggs....after assisting a few part of the way I place the egg in warm moist paper towel. It seems to help but some, just don't ever pip. It's sad. :(
I've never seen a lemon cuckoo chick right after hatch, do you have any of those pics???

Demo, Im so ready for winter too!!!!! I want to walk around the yard during the day without burning. I'm so pail hehe. You girls well be pleased in the winter and award your patience, Im sure!

Oh, that they will. All three girls laid 13 out of 14 days all through winter and spring. It wasn't until that horribly hot streak in July that things started to dwindle. 'Course by then, my girls were out of school and they could go through a dozen eggs in a single morning between the three of them and the babysitter.

I'm hoping all twelve will be laying by the time temps stay under 100°. A dozen eggs a day will give me enough to sell for feed money. I figure if I can keep six dozen at all times for the family, we'll be good.

Anyone driving from LA area to AZ this holiday weekend???

I found the most FABULOUS pair of rare chickies on Craigslist - located in Orange County area - and my car is too crappy to make the drive.

Will pay $40-$50 to offset your gas if you want to bring 'em back for me.

'Cmon, I know someone out there was just waiting for an excuse to go to Disneyland. LOL!!! PM me if interested.

Thanks!
