The grill is stuck, I will need help to move it into place, the 2 cooking fire pots, get very hot on very little fuel. The smaller one is just right for a pot, any size.

I have cups, plates and plastic ware and napkins, almost out of paper towels, I have plastic to cover the 8x4 plywood work table. I have 3 chairs, (1 folding, 1 very old plasice, one a chair that had been soiled and I fond it at my place. I have a 48" square table, and an iron round table, in the living room
400
1 chair can not be sat in because it is broken, I had been my grandparents.

I wish I could be a better host, it will be an adventure. You need to bring chairs. I did not get my work table cleaned, instead I help with mother. I'm not apologizing, if I did it would mean that I would be apologizing for caring for my mother. I just feel sad I didn't get it done. I call it disorganized lived in look. I didn't get that Organizer Gene, along with the spilling, book keeping and cleaning, my sister hogged all of them, then again, I would be her not me
But it would have been nice if I got get a little of each,

See you all tomorrow,

I am limited on selection of drinks, no ice, a lot of water. Water is good. :p

PS: don't forget I have
400
they are very docile

Your place is great. Can't wait to see your garden space..

Arizonachicken, at first I was going to name her buttercup.
I saw yours and had that name in mind. Then my girlfriend mentioned peaches.. I liked that..
However after hanging out with her this morning she looks like "blondie"
Filed her beak & trimmed her toenails. She did great.. She started to eat as soon as I put her in the cage..
She really liked the soft banana.. Thank you.. She is beautiful ;)

I am starting a thread " Observations on Sex development of Marrans", trying to figure out just how yearly can you tell Pullet from Rooster. Goal a 75% chance ok knowing. The more Marran chicks the better.

Formula date of Hatch, Name (3 letters min), order of hatch if known. 0828Ang8

Ask Desert Marcy, because when I got mine from her, two were a week old and the other one was mere days. She said she was nearly certain the two older ones were pullets and she was dead on. The younger was a cockerel, so I got exactly what I wanted. She mentioned the comb size in her message.

See you this evening.

caught up on the posts. You guys are awesome at making people feel welcome. GOOD SHOW! That is why I love AZ. Anyhow, Looks like the rain is finally cutting off in my area. But now here comes the heat again. Looong summers are great and then, kinda sweaty. ha.

azkat - i like the idea of fencing off the patio, thats going on our list of things to do. we are doing a bathroom remodel right now since we found a leak behind the walls and started tearing everything apart. then we are going to rip up our carpet and see what the concrete looks like. maybe we'll stain it this year, or tile. i dont even care anymore as long as we start getting some of our jobs done.

Processing party: we get home around 4 and plan to head your way right after we change. bringing 4 roosters and i will share. they're small guys - but i need my yard back. looking forward to meeting you peeps :>

Oh man that was a blast !!! I was sore from winning against my teenagers.. Ha! They said I cheated.. I say give an old lay a chance to
cheat.. Nawww.. However they figured out my moves and then won...is grabbing the ball for a milisecond count??

My Dad's forearms were all black and blue from the bruises after his and my game. Hopefully, soreness was the extent of your pain. But I bet you'd do it again...

Manda and I are looking forward to coming. I wasn't able to acquire any Craig's List roosters, though, so we'll just socialize. It'll be nice to see everyone again.

We have 3 Roos for sure.. You can use one for the process.. Glad you will make it..

Now there is 4..

Awwww, thanks for taking her! She'll be a good little hen for you!

Question....

When anything is crossed with a silkie hen, will all the babies have the 5 toes like a silkie? Or, if all the babies have 5 toes, does that mean only my silkie roo fertilized? Just wondering because all 3 of my babies have 5 toes but one is really gray and growing at quite a faster rate. Wondering if my splash cochin roo ended up fertilizing one of the eggs after all...
The polydactyly gene is dominant, but incubation low temperatures during the first few days can prevent the fifth toes from developing. Also, the expression of polydactyly can vary quite a bit. You might get a bird with 6 toes on one foot and 4 on the other, five toes each, 5 and 4, 6 and 5, etc.

Silkie feathering is recessive, and it must be inherited from both parents for the bird to have silkie feathers. So, your silkie feathered chicks have a silkie mama and daddy; any without silkie feathering had one non-silkie parent.

Beak deformities are usually a nutritional deficiency and tend to self correct after being given the correct supplements. I think it was the story about the Gnarly Bunch where I heard that, on the Natural Chicken Keeping blog. Several articles since have backed up her claim, so you might look in to that first.

Biotin, methiodine, sulfa and calcium are the usual culprits. Some have also said that after filing the beak down, sometimes significantly, it will automatically correct as the new beak grows in.

Just two thoughts on helping. Neither sound time intense or difficult, so they be worth trying. And I don't know if you free range, but providing cement or solid dirt ground will allow them to trim their own nails. I've seen mine do it on my porch, so maybe just providing a large brick in their run will work. I know a lot of parakeet or cage kept domestic birds put special roosts in that has a sandpaper type finish that accomplishes the same task. I do believe there are special mineral blocks for this also.
Beak deformities can also be genetic or injury. However, as described, with beak and nails that simply need trimming, trim them. It is very easily accomplished, and not needed that often.
