which hen is that in the middle? is she from the older flock I gave you? she looks great.
That would be her.
Muddy Black. Grey one was Peepers mama and Black one is the half Silkie/half Serama's mamano no, is she the black one, the grey one or the muddy black?
I am becoming increasingly discouraged in people and their lack of ability or knowledge to raise animals. it has made me really think twice about selling anything anymore. it is very upsetting to sell an animal or animals only to discover that the day after it had some accidental death. I put a lot of effort and money into them, heartbreaking to send them off to their death. think I would rather just keep what I have or they only go to people that I know very well.
I think I know why their are breeders that do not sell anything.some just ruin it for everyone else.![]()
So they might not have a lot of value after brewing but they wouldn't _hurt_ anything, which was the original question. They are talking about fresh or dried. After brewing, they are neither. They get boiled pretty hard.
I think we're really close to our first egg. My BSL has had the very red large comb and wattles for a while and has been squatting for about a week. The nest boxes show signs someone has been exploring them. Today the girls have been spending a lot of time in the coop even though it's cooler, sunny, breezy, and beautiful outside. Normally they spend the days in the bushes in the shade. I can't see any reason for them to be hanging out in the coop unless Ony went in to check out the boxes again and since they go everywhere together the others followed her. I'm hoping later today or tomorrow. *crosses fingers*
