Cute names. I love the name Lucy, almost named one of my cats that, It was between Lucy, Sunday, Vixen and Cinnamon and my brother made my mind up for me and went with Cinnamon. I've been pondering names for when my chicks come in May but I'll really need to see them before I can name them. We named our original 4 based off their appearance as chicks so that's what we'll do this time as well. *continues to tap her foot impatiently waiting for her chickies*

I am at my nephews house, also my sisters, was my mothers. sense y IPad was stolen I have to go over to there place to use the computer. it has really turned my already turned up world even more upside down.

Please PM me if anybody wants the 7 lively little chicks. They really have to go. Black China is find until her new owners are able to come and get her. she is so gentle and stands out from the others. I wish I could keep her but right now I really have to down size. the layers I so not see any difficulty in rehoming, I have time/ I will take some more pics of the little chicks that I am fostering. I do not know if I will be able to make it over here until Fri to post them. they are healthy and showing no signs of illness. I believe they will be safe. I will powder them again Sat., I am praying that they will be gone by Sunday.

As for my girls and garden, I have so much to do I am overwhelmed and do not know were to start, but start I must. Nothing changes unless I change it. First things first. I am making my list and checking it twice,

My 4 little Peeps from Angle are so quite. I am trying to handle them, I have moved them into the livingroom. It is a good thing my nose is compromised and I can not smell very well right now. They have escaped from their temporary brooder. When I find a home for the 7 orphans I will put the 4 in there.

please, somebody would like them.

Thanks for the welcome! We bought eight chicks, five of them we are keeping and the other four are my dad's/brother's. I haven't for sure figured out the breeds on the three dark chicks yet, two of them are my dad's and the one with the pale face I'm keeping. Other than that the ones I'm keeping are 1 speckled Sussex, 1 Egyptian Fayoumi, 1 Rhode Island Red, 1 Delaware (as long as she is female), and one unidentified pale faced dark chick lol. My dad/brother are taking two dark chicks, 1 RIR, and 1 EE. More pics on my profile page if you feel like being killed by cuteness.

We have a rotating list of chicken names, for the same chickens.  We can't tell the barred rocks apart, but one is named Daisy Mae and the other is whatever my daughter feels like calling her.  I think this week it's Diamond.  The gray silkie also has a rotating name. Sometimes it's Tangled, sometime Flower Bloom...I think this week it is Crystal.  My daughter is naming everything Crystal and Diamond.  Oh, and Chrys Diamond together has been popular lately.   THis is what happens when you can't remember names worth a darn, and let a small child choose names! The other two are firmly Astrid and Slayer, and I won't let my kid change their names.  She's tried to rename our dogs as well.

Hello Everyone! I'm new to the world of chickens. I just wanted to stop in and introduce myself!

Hi! And welcome. I picked up three new pullets today. They are from a fourth generation blue barred olive egger rooster over french black copper marans hens. One is blue with very faint lacing, one is blue with barring and the other is black with brown ruff I'm hoping for some nice dark eggs once they start laying. I think they are only 2-3 months old. I'm not sure how soon to introduce them to my older pullets. I've got them partitioned off in a separate area of the inside of the coop but everyone can see and hear each other.

Ooooo, photos? They sound beautiful.. I have found when introducing it is best to let free range in a large area.. We keep our in a run the length of our home.. Then open up the back yard around 4:30.. They just put themselves to bed., lock up the gate and so far no miss haps when we have integrated other hens.. . Our Moma hen Cheryl and the babies are in a screen'd in tractor in the run.. e I let the hens co-mingle the other day and 2-3 of the other hens went right for Cheryl. It was awful!! Cheryl can not see, her feathers are like a polish.. She is the lowest in the pecking order. I plan on cutting all of her top feathers in the next few days.. The babies need to get a bit bigger.. Then we will open up the gates..

Someone has been crowing, I think it is him, the only one I think is a cockerel, he is one of the 12/25 hatch from City Farm.

I will post more pics of my little peeps from Flowers girls and Angle. I not not had anyone interested in the 7 peeps that I am fostering. I think now they are Production Red/Red Star, do not know the 3 white ones are. Please let me know, I am fostering so they are free to good home.

I have to take him to Stock-Shop tomorrow. PM me I will check before I leave at 8:45. There are 5 pullets about the same size. I think they are pullets. Time will tell. They plus at lest 4 of my girls will be going. Just not ready to make that call yet. Flower will have first pick of the 4 Fluffy Butts from her flock.

Please some come PM about the 7 Foster Chicks. I really not prepared to take care of them, I do not have them with the 4 peeps. They are still in quarantine. This coming week end will be perfect for some one to pick up chicks that have been watched. I need the brooder pen for my little ones. They are free, and so fair seem healthy. I will be powdering them tomorrow when I get home. Had planed on to day, but it just didn't happen.



Also, I need help in cleaning up my back yard. I have a lot of weeds my girls will not eat, imposable to pull up and I will not poison resort to poison yet. I need to fill the back of my truck with dump stuff, get the chicken pen cleaned up and composting, I have to get my work shop area cleaned up as well. I have been pledged with noise bleeds, go to my profile, the last 3 in FAMILY ALBUM, I will be erasing them in a week or so, to see what I am talking about, inappropriate to post. Trying to clean out and up wreckage left from depression. It is really funny. Anyone that is familiar with it and how it works, it makes no sense at all. I have normal depression right now, anyone normal person would, but I know it has an end, I know why I feel as I do, most of all I can be and am being comforted. The other is like a Steven King Fog Bank rolling in and destroying, you are helpless, only no heart or heroine..

Please let me know if anyone can help.... Bring weed Wacker's, machetes and whatever else you might think to clear the jungle. I have plants going to seed, so I can offer people 'pick your own seeds'. I will be closing in my garden, there may be some salvageable stuff I have you may be able to use. Planing last week end of the month, or the first on April. My mom's memorial is the 13th of April, I have a need to have it done by them. Actually, I am available when you are.

The white ones are leghorn.. I will call a friend of a friend that is on your side of town right now to see of he wants them...
