City Farm I have 12 ducklings and my fav so far is the cayuga.

We will look up Cayuga.. We need to get one ASAP for our little stinker.. He/she is only 4 weeks or so.. Any ideas of
where we could look locally ??

I found out the hard way I am allergic to duck eggs. Apparently it is a common allergy and ducks are a different class of birds from chickens/turkeys. I can eat the latter just fine, but no duck eggs. You might want to try some out to make sure you like them and that they are compatible with you before you decide to get ducks if the main reason for getting them is to eat the eggs. It took the second time eating duck eggs before I got sick. The first time I figured was my sensitizing dose. The second time---ugh, I felt like I wanted to die. My partner at the time ate the same duck egg omelet and he was fine, so I know it wasn't food poisoning.

There is someone up in the Phoenix area who does duck rescue. Don't know if she would only have adults or not? I will try to find her contact info for you.

I know there are several breeders here in Tucson that sell all breeds. check on craigslist too. If you have nopt found one by the time we come in June I can try and get one to bring you.
I am loving my ducks.

Thank You City Farm. This has been a trying year for all of us and although I do believe God has a time and a reason for all he does and all he gives us I sometimes find myself wondering why. I know its not my job to ask why but I admit I do it. It has been so difficult since my grand mom died in January. We are all still trying to figure out how to continue on without her. There was not a holiday that was spent without her and she was the matriarch of our family. So my sister having to go through this as well as her fathers father is in hospice and her father in law is not expected to leave the hospital is so overwhelming. I cannot take her pain but I can be there for her.
I have decided to make a tribute garden for my grand mom. She loves hummingbirds and butterflies so I am looking for ideas of plants I can plant in Tucson to attract them so I can make her a garden. I figure it will help me feel close to her and I can have my sister and cousin come out and help me plant so stuff for her. Might help is all. Again thank you all for being so caring and loving. I feel like you are all my extended family!!
