Arizona Chickens

here are the new babies one more has pipped just waiting on it. I have 6 more but I have not seen any signs from those ones yet. i also have another broody hen (another blue AM) and I just put 18 eggs under her. We will see what we get. I am eggcited.

ah thank you. The fluffy one should as its a full AM but the little one is a RIR hen with my blue AM roo. I just want to see what color eggs she lays.

I'm thinking she will lay a pale to medium olive. That is one egg color I would love to have. Currently I have white, tan, brown, pink, grey, green-blue, and blue. Just missing dark brown and olive. Someday.

Hi, I joined BYC yesterday a week after getting some new chicks to add to my existing flock. I work in Tucson but live outside Benson. I have read the last dozen or so pages of this thread. So many cute chicks, beautiful chickens, and tragic losses. I am looking forward to being active on BYC.

I'm thinking she will lay a pale to medium olive. That is one egg color I would love to have. Currently I have white, tan, brown, pink, grey, green-blue, and blue. Just missing dark brown and olive. Someday.

I was going to put more under my other broody but she did not lay yesterday so I put some crested/am eggs and some full am eggs under her. My older flock is 95% am, 3% ee and 2% random breeds. Im off to see if my other egg hatched.

Well, the electric fence install seems to be working as advertised. The older chicks have been out in the run since Friday morning. My dog must have discovered the wire early on, there have been NO further excavation attempts. I also put in a 2 foot high plywood wall so the chooks can't even SEE the dog, they were freaking out whenever he came in view.
