Cherry, one of our Leghorn mutts, really outdid herself today. Her normal eggs weight in at 48-50 grams, barely a medium. Today's weighed in at 71 grams, borderline jumbo!! Ouch!!!

Yup, double yolker!

So mad both chicks that hatched have died and one half hatched and was backward s so it died. I think its too many hens in the nest box sooo we took it to 1 in ea box. And fenced them off from all the others. There are 2 more nest boxes ill see if the 2 I kicked out try to set up shop in those if they do im breaking them.

Agh, that is no fun :hit

Finally on the road. Left this morning. Post on youtub "travel with chickens day 1 part 1". And "travel with chickens day 1 part 2". Very tired. Very long trip. Had to stop every hour to hour and a half, check on chickens, give water and let them eat a little. I put ice in thier water bottle and ice in the tray under thier coop. It was so hot. The Rabbit Hutch was a good choose, they could get out of the wind.

The RV park I stayed at while I was finishing my move had chickens, 3 Buff Orpingtons. Now they have 4 Buff Orpintons. They seemed pleased with Mary because she was so tame and friendly. She was picking the chicks tarrably and drew bood on one of them last night. So I could not let her stay with them. The first night I had the coop she took it over and would not let the others in. I hatted to leave her, but I think she will have a good home. There was 1 altercation, last 2 sec. The rooster stepped in and stopped it.

I will try to stop earlier to marrow and try to catch up on my reading. Right now I want to get out of the heat.
Lady KD - Safe travels and we are excited to hear about your experiences along the way!
