Just had to share this precious photo of one good moma hen. This girl is from Maryhysong. .

I have some month old pullet chicks. I live in Mesa, but I travel to the far west valley once or twice a month for Market on the Move, and could meet you somewhere.

RIP Blackie (my avatar) :(    We were gone for a couple of days, and found her dead upon our return.  She appears to have probably died yesterday, judging by insect infestation and smell.  When we left, she was fine, although she hadn't laid an egg in a few days, which is not at all like her.  They still had plenty of water and food when we got back, and the other 3 are doing fine, although a bit stressed for having to deal with their dead sister laying on the ground in the middle of their play yard!  No indication as to cause of death - she showed no symptoms of being egg bound before we left and her belly felt normal when we picked her body up, no evidence of attack, so I don't know what to think, other than that sometimes they just die.  So, now we are down to 3 again.  Anyone have a couple of pullets available?  We are in the far west valley (Phoenix area).

Oh no, condolences from us.. :hugs. We might have a few, I need to check with @arizonachicken.
We are raising 4 for her.. Both of our chickens we broody, however try both rejected them..

Got a text from Bonnie (LadyKotadoria). She asked me to post for you all as she doesn't have internet available at the moment. She "found raw milk here in the Ozarks. It is $3.50 a gallon. 1/2 Jersey, the balance Holstein and a Mixed Cow breed." She has pics but can't post. She stated "the green I(she) posted earlier is called pok"

City Farm: I've noticed that the SLW and Barred Rock chicks are growing really fast, I don't know why, since are getting the same food and environment as the others. For what it's worth, they were all supposed to be large fowl.

Timiskins: I've got Barred Rock, Silver Laced Wyandotte and Buff Orphingtons. I got them from Meyer Hatchery, who I've always had good luck with- I've never gotten a sickly or unproductive bird from them, and for hatchery stock they are good quality. They were all supposed to be girls, and so far none of them look rooish.

Thanks for relaying the update! I was wondering how she was doing.
