Arizona Chickens

Actually, it is! (And it really does look like him.

He is my favorite. I used to be so scared of him as a little 4H kid, but then I realized how nice he really is. Tell him Tatiana Federoff says hi the next time you see him, please?

I definitely will! I plan to call on him next week for a lunch date if he's up to it. He really is an extremely nice man.

Placing young birds outside is the hardest thing for me to do. I worry CONSTANTLY about them, even dreaming about for the first few nights. When I moved my Australorps outside to the coop I was convinced I wake up the next morning to four dead birds. Instead, they're thriving. I'm working on conditioning my Barred Rocks and Silkies right now. I moved them from the warm office in my house, to the chilly garage with very little heat supplied by a light + allowing them outside with no heat lamp during the day (contained in their brooder). Tomorrow I'm moving them to the coop in the morning so they can spend the day out there with the Australorps, and probably adding a heat light and letting them sleep there tomorrow night. By the end of the week the lamp will be gone and they'll be on their own...and I won't sleep.

I must be a bad chicken mom, mine go right from the incubator to outside! No inside birds. Even the itty bitty quail chicks are out at day one.

If sill can get up earlier we can be there around 11:00, or earlier.. We will be stoping off at little chicken 1st.. We will make it all work, i will text you.We will leave the seed box there, it's been down here for a while. So of anyone would like some seeds, or would like to add, please let us know soon..
I can if it means we can get his stop in the schedule. I've got some seeds to add to the box too but they might not be ready, dry enough by then. If not they will go in the next time it comes by.

Not at all! I'm completely new to keeping chickens, which means I'm constantly researching everything and learning what I may be doing wrong. From what I've been learning, introducing chickens to the outdoors immediately results in greater hardiness. When I finally start breeding birds (hopefully this coming spring), they'll be outdoor chicks from the start.

If you are coming down I-10 from the north/west it would be less driving if you went to cyborg's first, then a little chiken's. Then gallo del cielo's in town. And I'm one street over from a little chiken, so holler if you've got a minute to say hi. Seed box - yeah! I'll go through my stuff and see what I can add to it.
