Arizona Chickens

No way, how awesome!!

Yeah, good luck trying to catch the dude!! If he wants to go home he will.. But it's highly unlikely..
Blessings from above.. Is he really loud?
No - not very loud but I know his call. He has no females around so that probably makes a difference. He pretty much free ranges and comes by the yard for breakfast and dinner. I'm researching if there is such a thing as a peacock "feeding station".

You alway want to have ice water, or put the bird on ice.. We have either running water or a ice chest.. Sometimes both, one to clean, then to chill..
If I had something like that, It would wear a long, sexy wig and a red, fancy-laced brazziere to cover up those breastesses...A G-string wouldn't hurt, either...that pic should be for adult audiences only...LOL! --BB

WELCOME to the Arizona thread! :D

Hi! We are in south Scottsdale..so almost Tempe area.  We have had chickens a year. We made sure there's plenty of shade, natural and shade cloth.  My husband put in misters (just 2 spray heads) because he wanted them to be cool!  They are afraid of them so they don't go under them but it does mist other areas and I am sure it's cooler!  I've heard about ice blocks in the water but we didn't do that. They seemed to do just fine last summer!
I'm in North Mesa near Tempe & Scottsdale!

I'm at 4000'.  We have Coyote a bunch and a few Bobcats.  (Also rattlesnakes and scorpions.)

so you haven't decided to move to Arizona yet?

Any NE Tucsonans that want to have coffee at LeBuzz? I have six hens that are my egg suppliers and also my pets.  Wanna talk chicken?

WELCOME to BYC!

I'll be in Eloy tomorrow afternoon...

Look at what I found in the Mesa store called American discount foods. I loved the look of the carton and for $.99 I wanted that carton, LOL

LOL, No, and no plans to move to Arizona. I've been through the state a few times, just on Route 10. My family is in CA, so I plan to stay here.

thanks for asking!
