@MrsFitzDarcy - wow - really don't know how big the span is but I would venture a guess at more that 6 foot across the bottom and more that 7 ft at the widest part. That's using me as a guide as I'm 5'2" and it looks way bigger than me across the bottom span. Really its not fun having animals dropped off around us. We've had to take two dogs to the pound. One was a lovable pit bull and had I been stronger I would have kept her but I would never be able to handle a strong pit. She even tried to sit in my hubby's lap when he was out in his power chair. The other was a beautiful white that was nothing but skin and bones. I was less that a week out of the hospital with my second surgery for kidney cancer and I wanted so much to keep him but then again here was a strong dog and that dog needed vet attention. The rescue was at animal control within 2 hours to pick him up. He's is doing great now. Then there was the male cat that I will need to try to trap so I can get him neutered before my female becomes pg again after she has her babies. AND I'm really not wanting to keep a peacock either but I won't let it go hungry. DH calls me nature momma because he was in the chicken yard day before yesterday and there were three ground squirrels there just munching down!! They didn't run when I was working in the yard and all but wagged their tails at me!! LOL ......I never have the luck to find any adoptable creatures in our yard, never mind a peacock! I wonder how a peacock can wander off and not be noticed. I'd hate for him to get hurt. I hope he stays. How wide do you think his "tailspan" is?
Poached eggs are my favorite. I just don't have any luck cooking them.

I'm always ending up with stray or lost pets. One time after I ended up with a cat that was obviously lost I asked my daughter "why do all the lost animals find ME?" She replied "umm...because you say here kitty kitty?" lol
Wow, I am so excited for you.. What a blessing to get a free beautiful peacock..Loving those egg poaching cups - they are easy on the eyes!! AND now I know how to make another place for the chickens who hate the nest boxes (whatever that's about!) I just need to put a cover over it.........here I come shade cloth! AND the peacock went away during the last wind/rain storm for about a week but he came back looking skinny so I've fattened him up a bit with extras like the bananas they love and extra mealy worms. While I refer to him as our foster boy we have now named him Ranger. He has found his voice and loves our front yard - so about 5:30am he's hollering for food!! Here's pics from last night around 6pm in our front yard. He's getting more used to me and doesn't run too far when I come to toss him food. I love the tail when its fanned but I really love the coloring, texture and density when he starts putting the tail down.......its my favorite. He was out by the chicken yard this morning strutting again with his tail fanned. Closed it up fast when he saw there were greens being given out!!!I love you photo's![]()

That is kinda similar to my mini fritatta recipe. I use spray oil in muffin tin, fill with beaten eggs, then add cheese and ham chunks, sauteed peppers and onions, or whatever floats your boat. Bake until done and enjoy. These keep well in the fridge and make a great microwave breakfast on the run.

Broke down on the side of the road the other day in Chandler at an intersection with nothing around but 1 little property with a huge Pecan Tree. Thought I'd cool off under it while I let the truck cool down and was greeted by a very friendly group of chickens.
I started cracking a Pecan off the ground a little while later and boy did I have a lot friends. They came out of the wood work. Obviously it wasn't their first Pecan. Ultimately the property owner came home and I introduced myself and told her the problem. She let me leave it there for 3 days and even offered to let me use her AAA. Just goes to show Chicken people are the best.![]()
Made me miss all of you guys and my chickens especially. I do read some but never take the time to post a message.
Hope everyone is well.
Meant to mention that we have a Convection Oven and use it outside so we don't have to hear the house up.I love them too. FYI I learned a new method for them and it worked great. We are full time RV'ers now and cooking indoors heats the tiny place up quick. Found this recipe that cooks in the oven in muffin pans and we love it.
Poor 1tbsp of water into the bottoms of the Muffin Pans holes and bake at 350 for 13 minutes. Each oven is different so you'll have to play with timing but they turn out perfect every time. A slotted spoon will drain the water that is now on top of the egg. 13 minutes made the whites firm and the yellow runny. Yum.
The lady's house I broke down at have me a dozen eggs. Whoopie
You might be able to look up Aloha chicks, I think??
I think your royal Queenie & our duck Lauren are distance sisters..@MrsFitzDarcy - wow - really don't know how big the span is but I would venture a guess at more that 6 foot across the bottom and more that 7 ft at the widest part. This is a little house I made for the feral cat for winter months and thunderstorms. This is a new game for us ........find the next egg spot of the royal Queenie!!I never have the luck to find any adoptable creatures in our yard, never mind a peacock!
