last time I was in TSC in CG all they had were ducks and red/gold sex links and its only been less than 2 weeks!!  I have to go tomorrow so I'll be in trouble......Enjoy those littles!

I've never seen birds that cheap anywhere, much less TSC!  Probably a good thing b/c I might buy all.the.birds.  lol

Same here. Discussed with the wife, we are pretty full here (unofficial headcount as of 5 minutes ago is 135, give or take 2 or 3).
No more chicks until I build more pens!

Yup, that's a lotta birds! My husband is currently building me more birds, but they will only take care of the ones I bought this year...so far

We did have them free range, but he didn't like stepping in bird poo all the time and then our dog became a chickentarian.

Sounds like someplace I need to stay away from! I'm staying broke buying feed, and I couldn't honestly tell you how many chickens I have right now. Maybe that should be my goal today, an accurate headcount!

Don't do it! As soon as you know the numbers it makes it so much harder to fall victim to chicken math (and there are just so many pretty chickens out there yet to be owned).

Wow! That's a lot of eggs for one day! This is 2 days worth:

We are getting 9-13 a day right now and have 11 hens who are laying

. Which is even stranger because 2 are broody and not laying the last 2or so weeks. lol. I have 10 pullets(and 1 roo) that are 2.5 months, so should be laying by summer's end and 15 more chicks who are 4-5 weeks-straight run, but 9-10 whom we believe are pullets.

I have 17, and I get roughly a dozen a day. I definitely don't have the color range that you guys do. Most of mine are a beigey brown with a few green ones thrown in.

Went for more feed to TSC Casa Grande. Cuteness factor and 75 cent chicks. 4 assorted midget chicks and 2 buff orpington. That puts tally at 59 birds. Maybe 5 roos. Two of which Linda will never cook. Gorgeous slw with grey head like a bald eagle and a Buff Silkie. Now if feed was only cheaper than dirt.

Has anyone ever used sand in their brooder? I have chicks hatching today/tomorrow and was just curious if anyone had tried that.
