Arizona Chickens

Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me. We're moving to Flagstaff, Az in a few weeks and have to stay in a hotel for ~ 30 days until we can get into a poultry friendly house. We have three hens who can't stay in the hotel with us - I draw the line at that! They are hand-raised and very gentle girls; good layers. We definitely want them back. Anyone looking to try out chickens or waiting for new chicks? We'll provide a little cash for incidentals and trouble.
Any help or advice is appreciated.

I wish I lived closer to you! If I wasn't in Tucson, I'd take them for you.

I don't know where your current location is. Are you looking for someone in Flagstaff itself to help you?

So, my good chicken fellows, it has happened again. I do say, chickens are just like potato chips. You cant just have one!

Well accept I couldn't just have 9. I needed another, and after the loss of my polish, it just seemed like the odd number was eating away at my sanity.

So, I've gone and done it. I purchase another chicken.....

A Silkie!!

Her name is Dolly Snacks. (First name is like, Dolly Parton, but my dad wanted her name to be "snacks" so i settled that could be her middle name) She is a buff silkie with osprey tail feathers. Very much the pretty.

Also, she is seriously the most chill bird I have ever met. Even more calm than my white silkie. OH and already i've determined there is a 30% chance Dolly is already a guy, but that is okay because im keeping them o matter what.

So yeah maybe silkie babies in the future?

Here are some pics of the cutie <3 Excuse my awful looking face XD

Dolly and her cute face. Or his cute face. Whatever XD

Dolly(lap) and Winnie(shoulder) being scared of the adult hens. Both are 4 months old, so Im hoping Dolly will end up being a full sized?

Dolly seemed to like my earring. She pecked at it seconds after this photo was taken XD almost stole the thing.....

Dolly loves to be loved. Also, is very the chatty much.

Figured Id share my new shirt as well. Yeah? Yeeeaaaaahhhh? best shirt ever XD

As long as you are happy with your new chicken, that is all that matters. I am also thinking that your new one is a boy.

Anyone else enjoying the rain? This is my birds' first real rainy day, so they didn't quite know what to do with it!

Mine are loving this weather! Though for many of them they'd never seen rain before. When I released the birds from my last hatch to free-range and it started raining they positively panicked. A few of the birds actually tried to chase the rain drops when the rain was sporadic and light...like they were chasing bugs. But when the skies really opened up they were stunned. We had a severe deluge the other day that left me with over 70 totally drenched birds that looked positively miserable.
