Arizona Chickens

If you ever get any more like this that you don't want, let me know. I will gladly give them a happy home. ;-)

Yeah I gotta agree. Black is one of the recognized SOP colors for NN's too. I also like Heisenberg - my best cockerel has very similar colors. I can't wait to see the offspring between him and my black pullet. The black pullet is larger than the average of my other NN pullets. Breeding them this fall is going to be a lot of fun.

You couldn't be coming out at a better time. We're finally enjoying spring weather instead of premature summer. It's perfect jeans and T-shirt weather right now. Enjoy!

Everybody keep your fingers and toes crossed for Chickerdoodle13. You will be a much-needed, necessary, and surely appreciated, addition to the Vet world out here. Not to sound like Dione Warwick, but I say a little prayer for you every now and then, hoping that your passion will come to fruition. Somebody told me "Do what you love, and love what you do.". --BB

Thanks for sharing your experience! I'm already falling in love with them a little, because they're so silly looking. I'm not sure I'll change his mind, but if I happen to adopt ONE into our flock, I don't think he would deny me.

I feel a bit like bragging today...about my chickens, of course. This guy in particular has stolen my heart. Yes, he's a hybrid instead of a purebred, but he possesses every feature I value in a breeder.

This is Andres, a mix of White Rock, Ameraucana, Dorking...and probably a few somethings I don't even know about. He's 19 weeks old:

He's definitely a cockerel of the world but he looks really nice. Is that a buttercup comb he has? I can't tell for sure from the picture but it kinda looks like it. Love his hackle and saddle feathers. Don't show him to any fly fishermen that tie their own flies.

It's actually a rose comb, but with a rather unique impression on the front of it.

Look at those gentle eyes. If he were mine, I would call him The Dude. "its all relative, man...."
