anyone seen any news on the afwul fire ner green valley?

had to bee evacuated even?

my teacher got relocated last night to the fair grounds out here.

Last I heard (yesterday), it has burned over 22,000 acres and only 7% is under control. Yikes!
And my uncle and his entire ranch had to be evacuated because the fire was heading his way.

That fire started just 15 minutes from my house. I know some of the families who were evacuated.

I heard that a border patrol agent was the one who started the fire during target practice? I wonder what he was using for a target? I have gone target practicing before and never started a fire, but I shoot at metal target made for it, and there is a good backstop behind it.

I hope that they are able to get the fire under control soon. It was pretty windy here today where I am. I don't know if they also had the gusts of wind over where the fire is at.

I read that he was using exploding targets. but that he turned himself in right away and is taking responsibility for it.

He was using exploding targets. But he did call in as soon as the fire started.

And it was extremely windy in Green Valley to that really doesn't help.

Wind, dry brush and exploding targets...sheesh. I am glad he took responsibility but that's just ridiculous.

Yeah he was off duty practicing explosive targets, and started the fre. He turned himself in but by the time the fire department got there it was already out of control. My dad thinks he could have just peed on it .

Im liek "Dad im not sure that how that works..."

Im sure this agent is biting his nails and running water buckets, hoping no lives are taken both for his morale and fincancial state.

Even if you have everything set up to avoid fires while shooting it still happens. Whenever you shoot at the ranges in the military and have Tracer rounds you can see how many rounds ricochet and start fires. A lot more ricochet than actually cause a fire but they backdrops and such are just precautionary and are not fool proof.
