as they've grown and feathered differently there are a few that stand out as originals and some that are very similar to each other
Some of them have huge eyes and beard like Bella and honey. I have two cleaned face twins Cleo, and pina. I've also noticed many of them that have some black in their tail feathers have a big green hue to them in the sun, including Marshmellow who is the black and white roo

Lastly so far it looks like Marshmellow is the only roo out of the 19 yayy!! He already this week has started to take an interest in mating. And as a typical immature little roo, he has set his sight on one particular poor pullet, Winnie, who doesn't understand why he keeps trying to hold one to her feathers and trying to step on her, so she seeks refuge away from him now and runs from him upon sight lol

Very pretty hens! I love easter eggers.

Here is a small sample of my paper bag floor I have done. As most pictures, it is much prettier in person. I ran out of paper that I had prepped. Prepping the paper is the most time consuming part of the project. Besides applying and waiting for the layers of polyurethane to dry. I need to have a paper crumpling party!

I LOVE projects like this!! Where is this floor located? In your house? The coop?

Hello hello again Have a quandry lol. Several of my girls have gone broody (violently) but are killing my egg supply, have over 60 eggs being sat on by three or 4 hens. Cant do this lol, need to get rid of my boys, sadly. 2 beautiful big Partridge Rock roos, does anyone here have a use for one or both? If not, I have contacted Jacob from AZ Roosters in Santan. But I would prefer a local home if possible. Good boys, would be great studs Let me know if anyone is interested. Free of course, but not for food or fighting please..

Where are you at?

My white leghorn is having an issue...hoping someone can help. Her floppy comb has a purple tint to it, just on the tips. The internet wants to tell me that it is frostbite, which it is obviously not! She is acting totally normal, and laid her egg this morning right on time, and ran to gobble some fresh herb treats. Could it be due to the sudden heat? Perhaps dehydration? They were dewormed in February. I will be keeping a close eye on her today to look for any behavior changes. Any ideas what could be causing this? I can post a pic if needed. Thanks guys!

How old is this Leghorn? I have an older girl or two whose combs get the purple tint to them once in a while - I just feel this is old age with them. I've wondered if someway they are not getting quite enough oxygen for some reason. Hope you figure it out. BTW - not frostbite!!
Thanks for replying so quickly! The strange thing is she is not even a year old yet (they will be one year in June). I went and checked on her again, and threw some grapes to them. She ran over and happily devoured a grape, and the purple tint seems to be going away slightly. I would be very concerned if her behavior suddenly changed, but she seems to be acting normal. Very perplexing :idunno

The combs will sometimes tint purple with they're in a state of arousal (not necessarily sexual), just before turning broody, when they have heart issues that result in lower oxygen levels, when they're overweight, and in response to dramatic temperatures. I see it most often in my roosters, but occasionally in my hens. Usually in my hens it means she's about to go broody, but that could just be my own girls.
