Bobby, PLEASE get your chickens outside while they still have time to acclimate to the heat. Otherwise you are likely to lose a bunch of them when they do move.

I'm guessing that means... still in the garage.... If you wait too long to get them outside, it will be too hot for them to adjust.... and you may need to keep them in the garage all summer, in the A/C.... the last picture you posted of your run/coop looked almost complete... what's holding you back? or am I reading
My garage faces W/NW, and they are feeling the heat. No A/C in the garage. The run is overgrown with weeds, and being on several medications, it's just hard to have the motivation to get things done around here. They still have room to move around.I'm guessing that means... still in the garage.... The chickens will eat the weeds, just carry them out one at a time. Pay a neighborhood kid a few bucks, and eggs to help you. If the garage has no air, it will eventually be too hot. Have you given away the roosters? How many hens do you have left?My garage faces W/NW, and they are feeling the heat. No A/C in the garage. @Bobby Basham - can I come help you?? My DH and I can get them moved and last minute adjustments to your coop. We can work with nesting boxes, etc, etc. While next week we'll get a reprieve from the hot, hot - in 80s - it won't last long. No Bobby we don't know you BUT we love you and want to help. Its just about help and not about judgment. Please?
Agreed. The chickens will take care of those weeds alot faster than you ever could. They WANT to. I find it's easiest to move birds as night. That way they wake up where they are supposed to be sleeping at night and it helps them to know where to go the following night. It doesn't always work, but usually does.... Just get those kids out there!!! They aren't meant to be garage birds! (unless you're way up north and it's -36 outside.... )The chickens will eat the weeds, just carry them out one at a time. ---and if your meds are affecting your motivation... run don't walk to your Dr to have them adjusted.---
If I were closer, I would offer to help. Currently we are busy preparing the house for family visitors to celebrate my "baby's" ASU graduation.
