Arizona Chickens

@azurbanclucker :love Officially adding Juliana pigs to my wish list. How adorable. Congrats on your new additions  Do you plan to keep them or sell them? Also, my husband wants to know how long this particular breed lives for on average?

We will be selling them. They can go home at about 8 weeks. We'll wean them at 6 weeks, and make sure they're thriving for a couple weeks after that.

Julianas can be fairly long-lived, 12-16 years, but I've seen some in their 20's. So that's small dog or cat territory. They're very intelligent and need mental stimulation, because if they get bored they can get destructive. Pigs are also naturally wary and take some time to bond to humans. Our female still hasn't really warmed up to me unless I have treats, and we've had her since Feb. On the flip side, the male took about 2 weeks to get comfortable and he's been fine since. A pig is a commitment. They're like having a 3 year old in the house who uses their mouth as hands. If you're not prepared to handle them or are a busy household and can't put time into training them, I'd pass. If they get trained and you have time, they're amazing pets, but if you can't train them or they feel neglected, they're a constant source of stress.

:thumbsup :goodpost:

Her litter was just the 2. She delivered the placenta and is resting comfortable with no issues, so we're pretty sure she's done. The one with the black leg is a female, the other's a male.

They are cute! It seem's that that breed doesn't have very many babies at one time.
