Arizona Chickens

Speaking of broodies... Rambita my ee 6 months old is broody AGAIN last time it was over a week long before she broke now its been 2 days so far...

She is my broodiest of broodies bc she's the only one that wants to spend the night on a nest :idunno

She is a good broody though she refuses snacks she will take breaks for food and water and even a quick dust bath then goes right back

@Lrosell31 good luck with your search :) if you can't find anything local you might want to check out MyPetChicken.com. I was also very worried about shipping day old chicks, but at that time I didn't know anyone in AZ or my area with chicks. I also wanted them to be sexed accurately (only females) and the feed stores are not the best at that. I had a bad experience with a craigslist purchase before, the chicks ended up being mostly roosters and I had to get rid of them, which was really difficult. So I tried MyPetChicken and I was really happy with the results. They are good at communicating with you and answering questions. All ten of my chicks survived and are still alive and healthy today. They were sexed 100% accurately. I had them shipped the first week of June, and the post office called as soon as they arrived. I'm sure it is definitely stressful for them, and I don't know that I would do it again since I now have connections with hatch-a-holics like @BlueBaby! But I would check them out, especially for breed specific orders.

Thanks. I will check it out.

You should let her hatch some. You said that you have way more eggs then you have sold to customer's and need to do something with 100 extra egg's, was it? :lau

I'd be overwhelmed with chickens then as it is I have 3 separate cages 1/4acre of a run to maintain :D
I love them but 27 is enough for me right now I guess I could sell some as hatching eggs

I have pure EE eggs, and pure Buff Orpington and both are good roosters so if someone got a rooster they would want to keep they would have a good chance that it's a good kind rooster since attitude for the most part is hereditary :thumbsup

I'd hold off on hatching the ee's still they've only been laying for 2 months so they wouldn't make good chicks yet plus I still get several double yolkers from them

My Buff Callie on the other hand is laying beautiful large eggs!

Plus all the Buffs are healthy, have great immune systems and have never gotten ill, the ones I have now that is :D
