Arizona Chickens

We had a nasty dust storm blow through at about 7 last night, which completely blocked my view of the mountains. I was bracing for a huge monsoon, because the radio warning went off about ping-pong sized hail and 60+ mph winds coming from southern AZ. Luckily it had weakened by the time it traveled north to us. No rain, no storm. Just some wind and dust. Today should be a little cooler so that's good!

Hello fellow Arizonian BYC owners!

Am newly relocated to SE AZ, near Sierra Vista. And my husband thought we would start our new flock here, with chicks this time. Previously we had 1yr hens to start with and much easier, I think so far!

Anyhoo, I've got lots of questions about raising chicks-to-chickens in this SE climate. Any info or direction to another thread is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.
Cheers.

Welcome to Arizona! You get the benefit of elevation and you're a little cooler than some of us, but still dry dry dry.
