Arizona Chickens

Any silkie owners in here? How old would you say they are before you can sex them? I really want one cuz they so freakin adorable! But I only want a pullet

By the time mine were 4 weeks old I could tell that two were cockerels and one was a pullet based on the size of the wattles. Before that I had suspicions based on behavior, with the pullet being more shy than the cockerels.

Amazon sells this amazing garlic spray that is safe for animals. Your house smells like an Italian restaurant but it helps. It doesn’t kill them, just deters them away from your house. It worked for almost two weeks, if it rains you will have to reapply it.

Awesome. Thank you! Do you ever sell any of yours? And for how much?

My internet seem's to be better here today, so maybe they got that part fixed. They are supposed to come out and work on the home phone tomorrow.

All of the 16 chicks are doing ok, even that last one that hatched from the small end of the egg that I had to assist. I need to have @igorsMistress stay away for a bit though, because a see a couple that I think that she would love to have for coloring. ;)

No, I only had the three and had to cull the two cockerels because they wouldn't stop attacking my husbands feet. It was pretty darn comical from my perspective, watching those two little fuzz balls bounce off the bottom of his boot over and over again because they couldn't see what they were actually attacking, but he grew tired of it. I kept little Didi. She's four years old now and has officially received the "pet" title, so she'll hopefully live a nice long, healthy life here. She's over four years old now.
