Arizona Chickens

On another sad note my daughter is moving to Florida. Her hubby got orders to pensicola Florida. I’ll be lost without her.
Look at the positive always,,,,,,, when you visit your daughter,,, you can enjoy these SUGAR WHITE beaches..

A long time ago,, a friend told me how great the fishing was off those piers. No need for boat.

Okay...I'm really over this year's molt-fest. Most of my birds are nearing the end or have already finished, but haven't resumed laying yet, but I have this one rooster.... He's just about in shock over his heavy molt this year and a total wussy, skittish baby as a result. I'm like, "Dude! Your hens were so much tougher about this than you are! Man up, stinker!" He responded by tucking his head under my arm and whimpering...actually whimpering.

Ugh mine haven't resumed laying yet either and OMG :lau

@Michelle Guynn Bummer you daughter is moving. I know I still miss my son/family and I think they've been in FL almost 6 years. BUT this morning and yesterday morning they were in the mid 40s. Heats up nice though. Most Thanksgivings they spend at the beach. Visit soon and visit often!
@DesertChic - my group is still not done - seems when one is kinda done another starts. Because of the new girls I have eggs and the sex links lay through thick and thin their first couple years BUT I too am done with the cleaning of feathers, feathers and more feathers!! I'd love to have seen the rooster whimpering.
We keep our house at 72 until the weather cools more - like in the 60s and then we bump it up a bit - only when people are here do we go with that 75-78 thing!
Enjoy folks - I have double clean-up duty tomorrow. Spent the day running errands and giving blood - took nearly an hour and a half to do my blood draw! SO VERY CRAZY.

I think it might be a rooster thing, they seem very keen on making sure there are eggs being layed :) I wouldn't mind if they all took a break lol

Chulo (previously chulita) has really grown n the last 24 hours. He looks so much like a mini rooster now! His tail is exactly like marshmellows at the base and his coloring will be multi with blue green and purple, black feathers. If you remember, marshmellow has a mainly white head and hackles? Well Chulo will be red there, at least so far... he also walks just like his papa, yup I think I was in denial about him being a girl lol

Now, you know that he just wanted you to warm him up a bit! :gigI only have the 2 hen's left (Splash Australorp, and CCLB) that are still coming out of molt. They are my oldest ones and molted the hardest of them. Most of my hen's are already back to laying eggs, and the older pullets have already started laying. I'm putting them back on the Layena layer pellets tomorrow. The crumbles are too easy for those tweety bird's to swallow. The pellet's helped to get rid of those little bugger's last winter.
