Arizona Chickens

Okay...I'm really over this year's molt-fest. Most of my birds are nearing the end or have already finished, but haven't resumed laying yet, but I have this one rooster.... He's just about in shock over his heavy molt this year and a total wussy, skittish baby as a result. I'm like, "Dude! Your hens were so much tougher about this than you are! Man up, stinker!" He responded by tucking his head under my arm and whimpering...actually whimpering.
:gig

Awe give him a break ma! It's cold outside! :gig

@Michelle Guynn Bummer you daughter is moving. I know I still miss my son/family and I think they've been in FL almost 6 years. BUT this morning and yesterday morning they were in the mid 40s. Heats up nice though. Most Thanksgivings they spend at the beach. Visit soon and visit often!
@DesertChic - my group is still not done - seems when one is kinda done another starts. Because of the new girls I have eggs and the sex links lay through thick and thin their first couple years BUT I too am done with the cleaning of feathers, feathers and more feathers!! I'd love to have seen the rooster whimpering.
We keep our house at 72 until the weather cools more - like in the 60s and then we bump it up a bit - only when people are here do we go with that 75-78 thing!
Enjoy folks - I have double clean-up duty tomorrow. Spent the day running errands and giving blood - took nearly an hour and a half to do my blood draw! SO VERY CRAZY.

We just had a new heating - A/C unit installed this week. When they were teaching us how to use the "smart" thermostat one of the installers asked what I keep the heat set at. When I responded with "68*" he just stared at me, then looked at my husband, and then looked back at me as if he expected us to start laughing. Then he finally said, "But...women always want the thermostat turned up." My quick-witted husband immediately responded with, "Not my wife. She's HOT!". Good boy!

Nah. We do a lot of business with this company and know all of the guys pretty well. He knows he can joke and be blunt with us and we won't get offended. It took a day and a half to install the whole contraption and we were all laughing and joking with each other the whole time.
