*************************************************************************
Please call Muriel if you are interested in exhibiting any of your birds. I know it is short notice, but she has been known to accept a faxed entry with payment before coop-in.

Or, if you just want to attend the show, call Muriel for directions and any questions you may have.

I won't be there as I already have plans for the weekend, but there are a lot of breeders who will be there and are willing to share their knowledge about their birds.

Have fun!!!

How cool is that!! It sure is a small world. Leon is great with the kids.

Leon helped and still helps my DS with showmanship. My DS, Hotwing Stables, joined 4-H when he was 11, and Leon was the first to show him the ropes, so to speak.

I'm sure you will have a great time! We may go to the show, but we won't be showing any birds. We are working on getting eggs from the showbirds, but they are slow to lay, as they were all at the fair last week, and are probably a little stressed, so it may take a week or so.

Maybe we'll see you out there.

Angie

Welcome

from Phoenix. Where are you located?

I went to Western Ranchman today and I totally resisted getting a couple week old RIR to go with my week old Ameraucanas.

I'm going to wait to see how many roos I have and then replace those with some Ameraucanas and Cinnamon Queens from Vanessa!

I live in Rio Rico, about an hour south of Tucson, just north of the Mexican border. This is the third time I've lived here, this stint has been 12 years now though. I teach math for the HS here and for the community college.

from Tucson!

My DS, Hotwing stables, and I are now collecting eggs for hatching. He has showbirds for 4-H that he wants to hatch eggs for. And we want to hatch some layer eggs.

Enjoy your chickens!!

ChickenBoyz, it all depends what your objective is. If you want some just for laying, you can purchase hatchery stock at any feed store. If you want a little more "breed true" and higher quality you should look at what breeds you want and find breeders.

Word of Warning! Poultry is addicting and you will have more than you bargined for when you get started.

Welcome! I have no idea where you live (I'm new to AZ) but I get all my pullets from Vanessa (Azcknldy) in Glendale.

All supplies from the local feed store.

Trust me, you can't go wrong with that combo, and I'm not paid to say it.
