Arizona Chickens

Thank you, you ladies are right, was telling hubby I thought I'd put down some kinda box that will help keep it confined and just let them eat that, I use to do that in the old coop, let them clean up their own mess. I could pull out any poo. at 16.00 per bag and them going through minimum one per month, along with looking at adding more to the flock, it can get expensive.. I took and swept the mess out in the run.. they can have fun with it there.

Hubs made major progress on the mini coop this weekend. Roof, door and roost are all we need now. I keep a spare nest box, if anyone goes broody we can add it to this coop and keep the other girls out.

Speaking of broodies - I've already had one broody that had to be put in the broody breaker. Didn't take too long - just 2 days I think. I knew it was getting ready to happen as this girl squatted every time I was around her! Crazy girls.....

If your broody breaker doesn't work, take her for a ride in the car or truck. I bet she will forget all about being broody. :gig

I sent Billy Bob to the great run in the sky this morning.. He attacked me for the last time on Thursday, acted like he wanted to again Saturday, think that the only reason he didn't was the fact that I had a rake in my hand.. I believe Speed Racer figured out that he's now head roo, I heard him crow for the first time this morning, was just out closing down the coop for the night and he was making little warning noises.. hopefully he doesn't turn into a idiot.. my six eggs went on lockdown Friday, I was just in there checking on their humidity and believe I saw two of them rocking, might be chicks by morning.
