This black one though! I'd almost bet she's out of my black Transylvania hen. Did she come from a JG egg?

That's the one I thought may have come from Fugly and that nn girl I got from you without the feathered legs. I honestly don't know, it was one of the first 4 that hatched, before I got up in the morning and the one from my birds was in those first 4.
Either way, it's a mix of birds from your flock though.
Maybe you could have gotten some of that plastic canvas and made a little box section to put Fugly's egg in to know what one was his?
I do! hahahahaha..haha.. ha..@cactusrotacute littles! You've got chicks coming out your ears!
Yea, the one with the bare back fluffed up great and we can't see the bare spot now lol. It's a zippy little thing!
Most of these chicks are bigger already than my first flock were and we picked those up when they were a few days old.

These Turkens I ordered from Dunlap hatchery are a few days older than the ones the broodies are hatching out right now, and most of the Dunlap chicks still seem smaller and lighter. I don't know how I ended up with such big chicks, but I like to credit my late rooster Remmy for that. I believe he had come from DesertChics flock. A good number of my current flock are his offspring.
Yes, I could have but didn't think of it before hatching.
Cleaning day here for me. Went to tsc to get food and scratch. They had a good selection of chicks. It’s scary going to places like that now with the scare of ncd. There is a video on fb that a woman took while facing the state was at her house to euthanize her flock because there was a positive one a few miles away even though she had her birds swabbed. My heart hurt for her and her kids. The man from the state of California was so flat with no compassion for her.
Please practice good bio security with your flock.
I had just thought of that myself this morning. I think that something like that could work in the future though if it was needed?
I know, and there are many people that are moving here to AZ. from California. Maybe some have even brought their flock with them when they moved.
