Thank you ladies.. I appreciate it very much, I've hatched chicks recently for replacements for a lady, I do not want to go giving her chicks that might not be well and infect her other hens. Bird Haven has retracted their post.. it's scary when you don't know what to believe and what not to believe, even a post made by Orange County CA was incorrect and they yanked that one.

Whoever it was rescinded their claim apparently.

One challenge for me is even the lady that this post was about admitted that she didn't call.. don't know where bird haven is getting their information from.. I'd like to know just one way or the other.

I don't know what or who caused that problem that you are having over there. I did however just come across this post about it in the other thread going that people are chatting about it. The link is to a Facebook group. I'm not a member there, and I don't do Facebook.

Holy cow! I just came back in from the coop, and my remaining green egg layer had laid a huge egg. It's more than double the size of yesterday's egg that she laid! I'm going to use it tonight for when I give Buster his allergy med, so I can see what's in it.

I've about been blown out of the water!! It is gusting pretty good out there. No wonder the girls weren't at the fence to meet me for their dinner!!

For those that were curious about my huge green egg earlier, it was a double yolker. Maybe I should hatch some of her normal sized egg's, and try to get more like her?

How old is this hen??? Doubles usually happen to young ones.

She's going to be a year old the end of July. This is the first time that she's laid one like that.
