Arizona Chickens

It sound's like thing's are going good for you now!
They are. Everyone is hanging in ok. I think

They are loving this warm weather and don’t seem stressed at all! They are a variety of colorful egg layers from Meyers hatchery along with 1 Easter Egger rooster. Any guesses on who is what? Too fun!
They're darling! My guess is the grayish fella in the back for your roo. Both of my Easter Eggers had chipmunk markings as chicks.

Even that sounds crazy to me, you can buy a whole chicken for that price in the store. I'm in the process of learning how to do it myself.. how many are you planning on dispatching?

I was going to do two, but luckily they were adopted. I guess it really depends for the others. I'd rather not have to dispatch a frizzle. :/ Yeah, you can buy a whole cooked chicken for less than that price!

A while back, I found someone to teach me how to cull and butcher chicken's. They came to my house, and I watched everything that they did. They showed me all 3 of the method's. I had to pay $8.00 for each of the 3 extra rooster's that were done. I don't like having to do it, but I can now if I need to. I have usually been culling the boy's right after I discover what they are now before they grow too big, not having to worry about having to feed them and having to do it later. No one want's my extra roo's besides the coyotes or dog's on the loose. My freezer is full.
That is a good idea. I've watched video on some methods, but I don't know if I could ever cull a chicken myself. The last two I took to the vet to be put to sleep (they had non infectious health issues).
The coyotes are an issue. I lost a pullet to them earlier this year, one of my favorites. At least we think that is what got her, found feathers had what looked to be saliva on them.

growing like little weeds and cute as can be. Had to wash a few behinds yesterday but only looks like 2 this morning. The high winds around here terrified them so I kept the big door closed a lot of the time. They are loving the mamma pad!

Ahhhh the chicks are big and beautiful! We’re having so much fun with them and probably half of them are laying. I’ve only witnessed a couple of them laying or in the nest box taking their sweet time but the ones that are laying are much more docile and squat when I try to pet them. The ones that aren’t laying yet usually run hahaha We average 4 - 6 eggs a day so far. A great assortment of shapes, sizes and colors! The pic of our girls was taken after there was a loud noise and they all huddled together. The only time other than snack time that they’re all in the same place! Just trying to keep them as cool as possible in the summer heat that’s warming up fast :( Expecting 110+ next weekend ughhhh

Nice to see you here! Nice pictures! Make sure there's plenty of shade and water for them.
