G'morning Arizona:frow

We got a few sprinkles and some thunder out of all that mess last night. It's mighty nice outside this morning though!

I have 7 chicks brooding in my enclosed patio, waiting for temps to drop to 100* or so before I move them outside. Note to self: no hatching in summer again!

I hope you're all ell enjoying the holiday and everyone has today off :frow

We got over an inch of rain in about an hour last night, what a lightning show! Lots of clean up this morning!

Congrats on the light show but bummer about the clean up. It sucks, I know.

We're going to be 110+ all week down here. I'm kinda sick of it. I know it's hot for you guys too, but the storms cool things off don't they?
 
Hi all, I haven't posted here for a long time, but I'm back, due to Chicken Math. LOL

Eggs are from my own girls so I'm expecting a good hatch. Just 8 eggs this time. Girls are not laying too great.

Heat has been brutal here and monsoons look promising, but not much rain. Lightning show was awesome.

I have to update my profile picture, bigger coop, bigger run.

Welcome back to this thread! The chicken's seem to be going through a molt right now, and egg laying has slowed way down. Good luck with your hatch!

Thanks! Heat has really impacted egg-laying this year, but since I give the eggs away to my neighbor a slowdown is ok. LOL
I lost my flock of 13 sociable, great layers to a coyote trio last year. Broke my heart. They had free-ranged out back for 3-4 years with no problems at all There were other folks here that lost many more than I did. I do have it on good authority that the trio is no longer alive,

So I have kept this flock in a big run and it just isn't the same. LOL
