I bought it for Jill, she's next in line for hatch, she's in one of my metal boxes that makes it next to impossible to get under her to check for new eggs, so far she's managed to keep everyone out of there, I've got to figure out a better way for dealing with broodies, their eggs keep getting broke, I've now determined for sure who the second broody is out in Charlies coop, it's not one of the wingettes, it's one of the ones that I bought to round out Charlies Harem..She's going to be known as Black Feather.

Everyone needs to leave their cells in their pockets when they go out to their coops, That way their girls can't call my girls and my girls can't call them. I've got to stop them from talking around the wading pool, my egg business can't afford anymore broodies. I have a feeling that Cruella has gone broody again..lol.. she was sitting on Red's nest when I went out for the second collection. I gave her 3 eggs, Pearl is down to 2 and Red has 6.. I'm going to consider moving Pearl to a broody pen.. that way she has water and Food right there, I've not caught her down in the past couple of days, I've been putting a bowl of water and some food in her box, it's kinda hard with them only being a ft x ft.. So that makes me 2 in the NN coop, 4 in the main flock if you count Rose with her baby..

So if I end up with only 1 bantam cochin and one silkie, will they be happy together? Or do they need a friend of their own breed? I notice they group up by breed right now, except when they snuggle to sleep.

@starri33 I only use the house phone, not the cell phone. My nesting boxes are 16" x 16". I wanted to make sure they were going to be big enough for these bigger sized hen's. Sometime's there are 2 in a box at the same time that are laying egg's together.

I keep selling chick's, but after this batch I will be taking a break from the hatching until toward's fall. In the meantime if someone need's hatching egg's and let's me know, I will put them aside for them instead of washing them and refrigerating them.

#1 is Pearl, #2 is Cruella, #3 is Red, #4, I haven't named yet, she's on of the NN's that are in with the main flock, she's got to have eggs tomorrow, Pearl and Red have eggs that are fertile, 1 of Red's, I am not sure of. Cruella was just given some today and #4 will get her's tomorrow, the nest boxes they are in, are the normal one's that the girls use, each one of those have 3 boxes, the middle where they go together has been made into a nest. I have another 4 that Glenn has built but at the moment no one seems interested. I need to start moving people..lol.

If you hear the phone ring, you might want to run to get it.. lol. So far I've only had a couple of people who've wanted hatching eggs, I've warned them that they are mixed flock.. Should I bet whether or not you'll take the break? lol.

I have enough pullet's that I'm growing out now that will be laying egg's by around fall and won't be molting this year. I didn't want to have to freeze a bunch of egg's again this summer to hold me through the molting time.
