They will be out in the shed, on the workbench. It is an old Formica kitchen counter, nothing can harm it. What size of light are you using in yours?

My crate in the house is a bit different than the one you posted the link to. Mine has the longer holes on the top part on the sides, and none on the bottom part, so I was able to slide a board through it and clip the lamp on it inside of the brooder. I'm just using a plain 60W soft white Sylvania Double Life light bulb in it.

If she is not drinking, and unable to successfully swallow, it could be that her internal organs are shutting down. I took both my dogs in too late (still alive, but totally suffering) after the vets had asked me to let them put them down about a week earlier. I know it is so hard, but sometimes I think we are postponing our own suffering at the expense of our animals that we don't want to let go. I think you have made her a princess in her last days, and having you with her will bring her even more peace in her final moments. So sorry it is so hard. :(

Thank you.. I'm watching her close, her kidney's and bowels are working, not like I believe they should, but they are working, I stepped in a example of her bowels working the other day..lol.. along with a puddle. When I picked her up at the animal shelter they told me they expected any day now.. I want her to go over the bridge in a home, not a cage at the shelter. If I can see that she's really in pain, she'll go to the vets to be put to sleep,
 
Hey All, hoping everyone is surviving this heat. All the chick's I've got from the broodies are doing well, I think I've got trouble a foot again, I've found broody poo in the main flock, waited to after dark last night to go pick up the eggs, no one but Rose and her baby in a nest box. Looked today to see if they had a nest stashed somewhere in the run, looked in the coop yesterday, nothing. I have a feeling that it's the little NN I call Bucket Jr. I'll go into the coop in the AM, she's in the bucket, she'll come running out eat a little, drink and go running back and get back in the bucket, but she's not in there at night. At least so far, I've put in a bid on some ceramic eggs, I think I might just see if I can track down some Easter eggs if I don't win the bid.. use them to put in there, I know Jill took about 4 days before she settled in. I tried a few weeks ago when she was doing this leaving a couple of marked eggs, she didn't do it. Rose is out of the question, Midnight's out of the running. So I don't know who, we have Goldie, Broody Mama 1, Cruella and Red.. that it could be, they've gone broody before.

I hope that you find out what one it is. I just stuck Shadow in broody jail before dark yesterday to break her.
