Especially if you use misters a lot, it makes the wood damp. Damp & hot, = bugs & mold in my book. I wanted it to be like a big bird aviary.I could wrap the 2 side walls in HWC and cover in winter. Hmmm...now you got me thinking.
I really don't use the mister much, but apparently I should have. I turned it on and the coop is quite a bit cooler than outside, about 10 degrees so not bad!Especially if you use misters a lot, it makes the wood damp. Damp & hot, = bugs & mold in my book. I wanted it to be like a big bird aviary.
Misters are great in the desert! If I was keeping chickens in the desert I would have a swamp cooler for the coop!I really don't use the mister much, but apparently I should have. I turned it on and the coop is quite a bit cooler than outside, about 10 degrees so not bad!
I'd love to see pics!

It's not in the coop, but the mist is blowing toward it and cooling the inside. When I was running misters before, I put them up in the pen, not inside of the coop.
Poor house chickens! Here is what their little chicken brains are imagining:So i have been leaving the door open so the chickens could come out to play, but they just wouldn't come out. Until today! Now they won't go back in so cute. And my leg is a regular roosting spot for Minnie Mouse. View attachment 2242391View attachment 2242389
