Wee Devils inspecting their handiwork.

Yes, we got some rain but it look's like lightening in the skies north of me now. I was outside helping my DH put railing's on the back porch by the laundry room. It will be easier for him to get up the stair's after his operation.
Glad you're ok out there, the rain took forever to get here and didn't last long but, like @EmmaDonovan said, I'll take it!

Same here with the rain. Buster had fun re-scenting his yard out there, though. I had taken care of the anthill out there in his yard the other day so that they wouldn't be biting Buster's feet.

Maybe @CaroleW might like him.
I too booked to think of another rooster right now - building coop, trying to give some extra pullets to friends of friends who lost some in heatwave, and trying to keep Hollands happy while we build their coop.
IF I have an opening for a rooster and Roger is still around I still have to convince my DH who never liked the looks of my current NN roo. I anticipate the convincing part won't happen before end of September. I personally would LOVE a nice NN roo.

I think the aviary netting and NN roo alerts saved my young laying flock from the hawks for now. I'm getting ready to criss-cross it with some bright/shiny flag material so it's more visible. Also the turf war between the owls, hawks and ravens may be keeping them busy with each other. I think the nearby nest may be empty - not sure if they got eaten or grew up and took off.

Looks like we have another heat wave coming. My outdoor swamp cooler is out of commission due to an electrical problem, so I'm getting a second battery for my Ryobi bucket-top misting fan and I'll have to move it and aim it at the roost. That'll have to do for the hot evening/night temps. I was hoping that we'd seen our last heat wave!

Yes, it look's like it's not done with us yet, but I am so ready for fall.
