Arizona Chickens

When it rains we get the well back. It is an old shallow well that goes dry when the creek dries up. When the monsoon comes, it works again! But no rain for a few days, and it dries up again. We got an hour of lawn watering yesterday before it quit.
Is your well something like this originally, and installed an electric pump to have water pressurized in pipes/hose?

Asking, because just wondering if you would be able to dig deeper to reach water-shelf during the times your water runs out .
I, as a small snipe remember we had such a well,(rural area) until I was 8 years old. Then family moved into city. (Chicago)

Maybe it was, originally. There are 2 enclosed areas, well and pump/pipes. I have paperwork from the former owner that a new pump was installed in 1999. This property is old, the bunkhouse is not recorded, but I think it was built before the house which was built in 1924. Many places in Prescott were built in the 1880's.

I've heard that the water table over here is lower now, and even our local farmers are starting to have trouble with it. They also have been told to dig deeper. Then we have those people over in California coming over and planting stuff in west AZ. using our water for their crop's. Pistachio tree's are one of them.

I am sure that when this place was built, as a sawmill/logging camp, the well did not run dry. Prescott city has deep wells, one is not very far away, and the old wells will never be able to compete. Mine is really just surface water. The house is on city water & sewer.

Maybe so, but you also have to take into consideration that the population has grown since then. There are more people that need that water.

What shade of polish did you choose :idunno

Well first they had their feet soaked, then a foot bubble bath with feather detangling, then foot massage... decided against any shade of red.. just need to figure out which color they arent as intrigued by... how about the shade of cool breeze?? Or the taupe, keep it natural?
