Arizona Chickens

Looks like Roger Roo is going to need a neck scarf for this winter. It wouldn't take that long to knit him one.

They sleep with the head and neck up under their wing's in the winter to help keep warm. He will also be snuggled up between a couple of big hen's.

Just want to check to see if any of you might be interested in some free bantams.

We've decided to keep just the two blue cochins, and have made peace with these three finding new adventures. We actually went back to the pet store and my daughter posted her flyer with a laundry list of conditions for the new owners. They were nice enough to totally agree with her 🤣

I am pretty confident the D'Anver and OEGB are female -- they look so much like D'uccle chicks. i am wishy washy on the red frizzle.

Let me know if any of you might be interested. Id be willing to drive a good distance if there are takers.

@AngBantamLuv I hope that you can find a good home for them. I only do the larger Dual-purpose one's over here.

My hen's are on vacation right now getting a deserved rest until the 2 cockerel's grow out enough to start breeding. I also have some pullet's that aren't ready to breed yet. Between my 2 groups, I have 19 chicken's now.

I hope so too.. i was just thinking.. if i get no takers, i could either cull, or wait til they are old enough to sell to the pet stores. I looked up culling methods and i realize i just really can't do most of those things (i don't think they're inherently bad, i just can't pull them off).

I am not sure on the cochin, it has some comb development where the others have none, but im not confident enough to know. I am leaning towards male. Do you think there's a demand for red frizzle males?

The two girls, i could keep them until they are big enough to sell.. but by then we will be attached. I'm actually worse than the kids with that. But my extension can only handle so many, and i want everyone happy, not stressed and overcrowded.

I have no idea since I'm not a part of the bantam crowd, but I do know of someone that is looking for a bantam sized Naked Neck rooster that she want's to put over a Polish hen. All of my Naked Neck boy's that I hatch over here are too big for her hen.

Oh, that sounds so cool! So are the NN an actual breed, or just a subset of a breed.

The frizzle feathers curl up so much, i can see their itty bitty skinny necks!

I have them posted on a few places. The male i can rationalize culling, it is what it is.. but people want females.. so i just think of that as an unnecessary waste.

@AngBantamLuv The Naked Neck's that we have here in the USA are both. It's harder to find the bantam sized Naked Neck's though, because most are working on making them bigger for meat bird's. They used the bantam sized Naked Neck's to make those Silkie Showgirl one's. My friend that has the Polish hen want's to breed for a bantam sized Naked Neck that will have that Polish top hat on it.

Ohhhhh, i knew there were showgirls, but i thought they just a recessive type of silkie.

Well i am happy about the blues i got.. excited about those. Anddd i guess i got myself sad unnecessarily.. im getting messages from people w failed hatches, so maybe the trio will get a home soon enough!
