Thankfully they were all out of chicks at the 2 feed stores i went to last week*chick warning* Cal Ranch has chicks, and the only reason some didn't follow me home yesterday is that I don't have a brooder set up. Cuteness overload--stay away if you don't feel like you can resist.
They had three white leghorn chicks left, and it was seriously tempting. One of them had a large blob of poop on its butt, and I told the clerk so she would (hopefully) take care of it.
And I got that peach tree from Tractor Supply--thank you for telling me they had them.

I bought a FlordaPrince, because they are supposed to do really well in the AZ desert. I did want two and they had two, but the larger, fuller one only had a few branches that weren't dead. The peach tree i got was just a bare twig, and it has really taken off! What variety did you get?

I just ordered a Brinsea EcoGlow 20 chick brooder off eBay. It may be expensive, but for my peace of mind worrying about fire hazards and chicks that can be saved by having the temps right, it should be worth it. I have an extra large collapsible dog crate that can be lined, or cut down in size with a board.
