Last year I put mine March 31 chicks outside in Mesa around 3-4 weeks old in a chicken tractor attached to a plastic dog house that I had a eco glow heater plate that they could still get under if they were cold at nite.Haha yes, most of the threads I’ve been reading are worried about the cold, while I’m wondering if they’ll cook with the heat!I waited quite a long time before I took my previous flock outside so it was a bit cooler when they moved, but they really made a mess in our living room which I don’t want a repeat of! We’ll have to place the smaller coop close to the bigger coop so they can start getting used to seeing each-other but not be able to peck or cause injuries. I’m hoping for a smooth transition

Then I had another batch and a half (from Parront) that I started putting outside AT NITE when it was "cooler" (80 or 90 degrees) to get them used to the heat at first, then after a couple weeks they stayed out during day - with misters on timer going off 10 min every other hour, 32 oz ice cubes and lots of shadecloth and partly under orange trees for heavier shade.
By the July heatwave I ended up moving everyone to Chino Valley because I wanted them to survive with less work on my part. And I had too many to keep in my backyard in Mesa anyway - and rooster started crowing.
