Arizona Chickens

Sorry for your neighbor's losses, but glad that your are ok and were protected.
I always thought they were tempting fate to keep all those animals in that enclosure - they have goats in there with all the poultry and also a raised rabbitry just outside that enclosure. I'm surprised they didn't have significant losses sooner. They have been there probably 20 years so they know better than me the risks.

I'm grateful my DH is a super chicken fortress builder. He overbuilds and always takes my suggestions seriously like the bottom part of the wall on enclosed runs being made of expanded metal panels (used in stucco systems) that are sharp on predators paws if they test it. I'm thinking the predator could've been spying our system and found an easier mark at the neighbors.

Has anyone noticed the price of hardware cloth lately? Several rolls we were looking at at Home Depot and Lowes a few days ago just doubled in price. 😮 I guess this has to do with all those container ships backed up?
The price of everything is going up. Look for the price of your groceries to go up 10% in about another month. They are also talking about a shortage of Thanksgiving turkey's, so if you can find one now buy it before they aren't there.

You'd think the goats would attract bigger predators than the ducks would, like the coyotes. That's great that your system held up and/or deterred the attacks!
