Arizona Chickens

OK, my turn to get lost on the internet.... With so many people joining and moving into the state, or moving within the state, I found this list of chicken breeds according to your USDA plant hardiness zone. So if your plants are selected for zone 9a, or 7b etc, your chickens can be too!

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that get's lost that way. Sometimes you can run across some good info, so why not share, right?

That bird flu has now been confirmed in 351 flock's. So far it look's like none are here in AZ.;

If anyone has been wondering what they mean as backyard producer non poultry it's explained here:

Yeah. I've been keeping an eye on it. My girls are only 4 weeks old but this is definitely influencing our run build. It would be devastating to lose one much less the entire flock.

We have had so many thing's to have to worry about these past 2 -3 year's with the covid, the bird flu, and now we have something called the monkey pox. When will it stop?

It is said not to be a STD so research for yourself because the definition may be influenced by a variety of factors. You can judge how much to worry about it after researching.

Either way, it's scary. I seen picture's online of what it makes people's skin look like.

On the lighter side, Olive seems to be developing a Mohawk. She's cream legbar x cuckoo marans. 20220524_104432.jpg
