Arizona Chickens

Well shoot. I built my nestbox so that the eggs would roll back to the bin that would extend outside the back of the run. I raised it to keep our (large) dogs from messing with it (and so I wouldn't have to bend down ☺️ ). Not sure I want to put it lower, but if I don't, I'll have to figure out the roost. :idunno

You got me thinking about the slanted plywood idea (but for inside the run). I'd probably have to put something water-proof over it--maybe-- It's not like we get a lot of rain!
That’s pretty awesome! I couldn’t see your nest box opening outside from the back there. Maybe the plywood with a tarp covering would work. Or you could tie a tarp to the sides at an angle for runoff to one side or the other and I bet you could find one big enough to cover the whole back part there. Not too sure about your storms though. We can get some serious wind with the monsoons.

You ain't whistling Dixie!!

I go out for 10 minutes. Come in dripping wet with face flush. Cool off in A/C for 45 minutes (or more). Repeat. :barnie
Pretty much! Went out on my break and was so thankful I could come back inside. I feel bad for the crew, they got two ice blocks today.

...and my weather app shows snow for the background, lol!

(circling the temps there, not the snow, haha)

Holy cow it’s hot as :rantout there!
And our water company apparently broke a line down the road--they had a truck pumping, equipment there etc. But they're sending out a phone alert blaming it on the long term drought and asking us to conserve. Our water is still on, but at progressively less pressure throughout the day.
