Some breed's are easier to sex earlier then other's. I like the one's that have the single comb's, and I stay away from those shorter combed breed's because of our heat. Thanks! So at what age would the sexing be more accurate?

Your welcome! That's why I suggested point of lay pullet's. By that time you know who the girl's are.Wow! Had no idea how complex it could be.
Thank you for the link!
Pullets, 4-6 months. They may not be laying yet but will soon and you will know the sex for sure. There are all sorts of methods to figure out sex and not all work in all situations and don’t really vary much from breed to breed. Chickens are chickens. Straight combs are the easiest to sex, but sometimes wattles can be an indication as well with breeds with other comb types. If I don't want to deal with baby chicks but want 3 hens to put directly in the run/coop, what should be their minimum age?
We finally had our first rain here: a hard downpour which only lasted a few minutes but flooded everything. Since it was so dry the ground absorbed it all quickly and just left the usual debris everywhere. Lots of lightning and thunder. It was so nice to see/hear/smell/feel some rain!
Our rickety old evap cooler isn't doing much with the humidity in the forties. We got a second-hand portable A/C unit and I'm trying to set it up today. It's very awkward. The heat exhaust has to connect to the bathroom casement window across the hall via a long hose so the A/C unit can sit somewhat close to the middle (smallest) bedroom and I hope cool it off.
Please wish me luck, it's been so hot here we haven't slept in ages and I'm about to hoof it to a motel!
I can empathize! Several years ago, our A/C died. We set up a couple portable units with the hose and window exhaust. At some point there was a leak under the unit that warbled and bubbled our cheap laminate wood flooring. We finally had our first rain here: a hard downpour which only lasted a few minutes but flooded everything. The floor still looks crappy there. We've been hoping to put down a new floor anyway but never seem to have the time. Thanks for that. Then I'd have to wait until her 6 week olds are older (if she still has them) or find another source. Or take a risk that I end up with a rooster.Pullets, 4-6 months.
