Arizona Chickens

No,,, no store run today. But I did make some chicken tacos... Not sure If I'm the only soul to make such??? :idunno
Diced up rotisserie chicken,. Opened up Taco Seasoning Mix from envelope. I also added some Chili seasoning into that. (about 1 tablespoon) Mixed those 2 ingredients into about 2 cups of cold water, Brought to boil, and simmered the diced chicken for a while. Chicken was already cooked,, but wanted the seasonings to permeate the meat. All on soft corn tortillas of course. I also topped with some diced potatoes, Cooked quinoa, Thailand purple rice, and Mexican 3 Shredded cheese.:drool:drool:drool..
No grass:old:gig,, (AKA. lettuce)
Here is a pix I took at dinner time.

Looks yummy!

I trimmed some trees and gave to the chickens to scratch thru. What is heaven to one flock is the end of days to another...LOL.

I also counted the tomato, pepper and eggplants that I have ready to plant - about 90 plants not including the ~25 cucumbers and more flowers. I didn't count the weaklings or the suckers that I'm rooting or anything else I might be just starting. There's only 100 days to the end of September when I want to have squash and pumpkins... etc. So those have to be started pronto.

I already hung up some new Fly Rescue Bag thing's. When the monsoon hit's all of that rain bring's ton's of flies. So, that's done now. I bought a 6 pack of them off Amazon, so they should last a while.

I moved the duckling's into the other pen that has more afternoon shade when it's the hottest. They freaked out when I grabbed them, but figured out that I moved them to a cooler spot. They still have their food and water, so they are happily still together. ;)

Do you ever eat duck eggs? My sister gets them from someone nearby her. Aside from being huge, she said they taste wonderful and the yolk is really creamy.

Yes, I have eaten duck egg's in the past and they do taste good. I have also eaten turkey egg's before. They taste good too, but the membrane under the shell is thicker.

My next door neighbor has a female duck with 2 drakes, but the hen is always hiding the nest and trying to hatch. By the time they figure out where the nest is at, all of the egg's are wasted because some are rotten already. They free-range.

I'm sort of glad that they decided to let me have this trio of duckling's back so they can eat duck food instead of dog food. These aren't free-ranging though. There's 2 girl's and a boy.

I'm not sure what those are, but if you can ever get a drake to lay egg's you might try them to see. Then you can let us know how they taste. :lau
