Arizona Chickens

Had to share a picture of my little Biscotti. Shes from an order of Olandsk dwarf eggs I got from Greenfire farms. Think she's going to make beautiful babies with my dwarf roo Candycorn.
Biscotti (ignore the ceiling hole...a contractor almost fell through our ceiling...it'll be fixed soon 🄓. Shes still developing her color so she'll be less white by adulthood...at which time she'll start getting whiter with each molt again šŸ˜‚šŸ„°

Nice! Are you hatching anything else right now? I'm going to get my hatch started going tomorrow. I have my gallon jug of distilled water to get started with. I had to borrow it from my hubby, because the Walmart here was out of it.

They're gorgeous. Their babies are going to be so pretty!

Have some yoko crosses and some dwarfs hatching out now.

There's a cemani hen that'll hopefully be brooding soon...if not I might incubate her eggs. Not sure I want to keep keeping cemani though.

My call ducks and Chinese geese are all laying like crazy. Letting them hatch their own this year though so we'll see how they do.

Have my Hamburg breeders selected, but I haven't separated them yet...I'm still trying to decide if I want to put them in a breeding coop or just get rid of the ones I don't want babies from. I should get rid of the extra birds but have gotten attached to them...so I'm putzing about it. They'll be one year in April I think? Anyhow, it's a good age to re-home at since they're just getting into the swing of laying daily.

My oegb I'm thinking about getting rid of all of them but a couple sweethearts. Just keep my friendliest as pets and let them pass of old age. I was starting to breed towards lavender crele and to see what a lavender cream spangle would look like. But feeling a little like downsizing. We'll see...I haven't decided yet.

Let's see...last are my peas. They're not into breeding season yet. When they are, think I'm only going to breed pure greens this year. I'm definitely feeling like less is more these days. šŸ˜‚

I know what you mean about sometimes having to thin down some of them. I want to grow the chick's out that hatch from this batch. I will sell my hens that are already laying that have the green legbands on them to make more room for the grow outs. I don't need so many egg's right now.

If you decide to let some of your girl's go, I'm sure that someone out there will be glad to take them off your hand's. They won't have to worry about chick's and brooders, as the hen's that are already laying egg's are ready to go for them.

You won't be selling any of the females from this hatch?

It might depend on how many that you want. If you tell me how many girl's that you want, I can add a few more egg's in this incubator that i just started the batch going today. I'll have some boy's too, if anyone want's those, as I'm going to keep maybe 3 of those to grow out. The good thing about this breed is that chick's can be sexed right away at hatch.

Do you think you'd have six girls?
