Arizona Chickens

I get mine from tractor supply, because this new one isn't so far away from me. What breeds do you have? Bigger breeds consume more feed. That's one of the reasons why I switched to doing leghorns, as they are more feed to egg efficient I've been told.
I have lots of different breeds and lots of breeding projects I'm working on. I have both chickens and ducks. So just trying to look at better options because we have so many.

Edited to add I have both Bantams and standard size chickens and different breeds of both chickens and ducks.

I can understand that. That's why I decided to slack back on those bigger breeds that eat more feed. I'm doing the Leghorn's now in the different colors, but not the white one's.

If you have chickens and ducks, consider getting AllFlock feed. Ducks do need additional Niacin, and Lysine. Chicken feed may be low on those ingredients.
That is what I use for my chickens. It is 2% calcium. I have layers, and non layers, so I provide additional calcium cracked oyster shells, free-choice.
With AllFlock feed, you use same feed for all your birds.
Prices in my area are quite reasonable, from a while ago when feed was way too expensive.

This feed store is of course local to my area. But that brand of feed may be available in many areas. :idunno

That's some decent pricing! Ours is just about $25 for a 50lb bag for the all flock. :(
I do supplement with lots of other things in the feed as I know the ducks do need additional niacin. I've been breeding and raising chickens for about 18 years. Just looking for cheaper options. Right now I'm going through 100lbs a week. In addition to the feed they get cucumbers, carrots, canned pumpkin, frozen peas, cantaloupe, watermelon, cilantro, parsley, cabbage, and whatever other veggies I can get my hands on at a reasonable price. I also water down their feed with electrolyte which has that additional niacin for the ducks and helps them in this heat.

Does anyone here in Arizona want some Bielefelder's for thier flock? I have one rooster and 6 hens of those that I need to let go for free, or I will be culling them. They are just now coming out of a molt. I'm doing the Leghorn's now.
You breed Bielefelders?! I love those so much. Had a couple girls several years back, they were such good birds. Love everything about them. Where abouts are you located? I'm down just south of Maricopa.

I'm rural just outside of the city of Maricopa close to the Harrahas Ak-Chin Casino. I was working with the Bielefelder's but I'm in the process of changing over to doing Leghorns. I would love if someone took all of these Bielefelder's together.
