Arizona Chickens

Mine is open-air, see my page. I really like the chick brooder at the Western Ranchman, but was not a fan of their bigger pen. I seem to remember it was much too low to the ground. There is NO WAY I would be able to rake it out. I LOVE the metal brooder West Ran uses, and we happened to find a stainless steel island stove hood at a garage sale for $8. Enjaytoo came over and the first thig she said was, "oh a brooder?"

Thank you so much! That looks pretty much exactly like what I want. My Engineer/ architect/ farmer cousin from Montana will be here in Feb. to help with the project. . .
I am very short (about 5') so the one at Western Ranchman would work for me, but I know what you mean. . . when my friend comes over to take care of the girls, she has stand stooped over in the exising run.

I want to build a coop from Pallets. The feed store in Buckeye sells them for $2.00 each. I do see free ones on CL. I don't want to drive all over to get them. They look like pretty nice ones, at the feed store and I can pick and choose. There is a post of one that a guy built that looks like what I want to do. I even thought about a truck bed cover,(shell) for a roof. I am still thinking about that. Has anyone ever seen that done? I am into using scrap stuff. I always have my eye peeled for some cast off that I can convert into a coop. My family thinks I am nuts. Except my DS3 he sees junk like I do. Hummmmm, What can I use that for? He lives in VA. I can consult with him. I wish that he was here, he could help me build it. At least I can send pic back and forth for advice/instructions.

I have been getting from 1 some days, up to 4 some days. I have 5 girls My EE is still not laying at all, for several weeks now. It seems strange that during the blistering summer, I was getting 5 eggs each day. Now that it is cooler, you would think it would be better for them. NOT! I had to stop selling my extra eggs. I have company for the winter, so I use more eggs.

Everyone have a great day. I do have to get something done today. See Ya:frow

At the top of the page there are categories to click on. .. .it took me a few minutes to figure it out, too!

there are blue links above the pics, like "The eggplant", "the henway", "DIY", and "Aloha"

I am actually editing some pages right now, so the links will be bigger...

I am having some issues with the page editor...I never know if it is the scripting or some funky reaction to my company's firewalls/internet settings. The pages never seem to look like I meant them to look. Oh well!

i LOVE that second one! That little old lady with her power tools is awesome!

has anyone made a waterer with a 5 gallon bucket and an oil pan or something underneath? I'm sick of filling the one gallon waterers every single day.
